With all wood floors, trying to sweep it up is useless as it just flies everywhere.It's also fantastic for all the dust bunnies under the bed. It makes it possible to get all the hair or dust under there without having to move the whole bed every time I clean. I use the moist pads to clean under there after the dry ones. I don't use it for dirt as much as I do just for picking up hair and dust bunny clumps. Our floorspace is too big and there is too much dirt and dust in here to use the dry pads. I usually use them to get all the hair around the edges of the rooms and corners but then use a regular broom to sweep up the rest of the floors. Otherwise I'd be going through so many pads that it would get expensive. Therefore, I rely heavily on my swiffer and swiffer wet-jet. I use both several times a week to maintain very dark hardwood flooring that tends to highlight even the slightest bit of dust. I find sweeping with a traditional broom to be very inefficient, whereas the swiffer is like a dust magnet. I just stick it blindly under my bed and swirl it around and it does a decent job of attracting most of the dust. Granted, that is sort of indicative of my cleaning style. With a swiffer, my house really looks like I'm a lot more meticulous than I actually am. I take it for a spin around the floors every few days and they look great. Once a week or so, I will follow that with some swiffer wet-jet action, but it definitely works better to use the regular swiffer first.This is a great deal on the refill pads.
